january is time to disco

january is the time to kick it into gear. all the holiday distractions are over. time to train hard, freeski hard, and get ready for a great season of racing. the first weekend in january proved to be a big one for AVSC alpine athletes. while bobby moyer was winning the topolino qualifier, age class athletes were dominating the podium in vail, and ability athletes were having a good showing in breckenridge. in vail, even though the temps dipped well below zero in the am, the sun came out and seemed to fire up the athletes. J4 boys swept the podium to lead the way.

Congratulations to Bobby Moyer (right) for qualifying for the Trofeo Topolino in Italy next month.  Bobby is one of three U.S. men taking on competitors from up to 40 different countries in this "mini-Olympics".  Bobby joins Paula Moltzan from Buck Hill (left) as the Rocky Mountain Division's top J3 skiers!  Read more about it in the Aspen Times.
